Brushing your dog's teeth is the best way to keep them healthy and free from disease.

Follow our 5 easy steps

Before you start, get your dog used to having its mouth handled.

  1. Introduce your dog to toothpaste (you must use pet toothpaste)
  2. Get your dog used to having toothpaste rubbed around their teeth
  3. Introduce brushing — Begin by brushing the canine (fang) teeth only
  4. Introduce brushing to the back teeth — the molars
  5. Introduce brushing to the front teeth — the incisors

Regular brush can help to prevent dental disease in dogs. If your pet is suffering from dental disease, pet dental care may be required. Visit our pet dental care page for more information.
