Pet physiotherapy is frequently used as part of a treatment regime in our pets. At Maven Vets we are delighted to offer this service with a Chartered Physiotherapist who specialises in animals, Joanne Boddy.
Physiotherapy can be used for a number of conditions.
It is particularly useful following orthopaedic surgery (surgery on a pet's limbs or back) to help them regain maximum strength and motion.
At Maven Vets we routinely use physiotherapy in the days following a pet's orthopaedic surgery to reduce swelling and begin safe movement to prevent unnecessary stiffness.
Physiotherapy can also be a useful technique for animal's who have arthritis, in combination with other treatments, as it aids in building the muscles around the affected joint.
At Maven Vets our Nurses are trained in physiotherapy and will perform treatments on patients in hospital when required.
In addition, we have a visiting physiotherapy specialist, Joanne Boddy, who can arrange to see your pet as an outpatient for ongoing support or if they require a specific course of physiotherapy.
If you pet is in hospital they will be given physiotherapy during their stay if required.
