Fleas are a common problem for cats and can cause serious irritation.

They are small wingless insects that bite cats (and other animals) to feed. A single flea can bite up to 400 times a day.

This can cause our cats to feel very itchy and, in some cases, cats are allergic to the saliva in the flea bite and the reaction is more severe- this is known as Flea Allergic Dermatitis.

Fleas can also transmit diseases like tapeworm and Bartonella when they bite, therefore making protecting your pet against them very important.

More information on fleas and protecting your cats against them can be found on the International Cat Care website.
