Wellbeing Awards
Working in the veterinary industry is incredibly rewarding and those who opt for careers in this field of work have a genuine love of animals and a drive to protect and care for them.
However, this same passion and drive can also leave those in the profession feeling stressed. The jobs of a vet and nurse, as well as those who work in other roles in the practice such as reception, animal care and admin are often highly demanding and busy. Coupled with this, there are times when despite our best efforts, we simply cannot cure our patients. When the time comes to let a patient go this often affects the whole team and the emotional toll this can take on our team members is very real.
Throughout the profession there is recognition that, in order to continue to do the amazing jobs our teams do, they need to be supported in their place of work. This support has to come from within each practice.
The Vet Wellbeing Awards are now held annually at the end of each year to recognise practices who hold wellbeing of their team at their heart. The team at Maven care not only for our patients but for each other and we are delighted to have been awarded a Highly Commended Certificate for a medium size practice in this award.
